Investing.com – Belgium equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Healthcare, Consumer Goods and Technology sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 added 0.71%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were UCB (BR:UCB), which rose 3.24% or 1.97 points to trade at 62.70 at the close. Ontex Group (BR:ONTEX) added 2.41% or 0.65 points to end at 27.42 and Umicore SA (BR:UMI) was up 2.08% or 0.78 points to 38.20 in late trade.
Biggest losers included NV Bekaert SA (BR:BEKB), which lost 0.48% or 0.18 points to trade at 38.13 in late trade. Telenet Group (BR:TNET) declined 0.42% or 0.25 points to end at 59.22 and KBC (BR:KBC) shed 0.37% or 0.260 points to 69.640.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 73 to 39 and 6 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.25% or 3.18 to $1280.88 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 0.25% or 0.14 to hit $55.19 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 0.57% or 0.35 to trade at $61.52 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.14% to 1.1775, while EUR/GBP fell 0.31% to 0.8924.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.04% at 93.76.
