Investing.com – Belgium equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Technology, Consumer Services and Healthcare sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 rose 0.65%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were bpost NV (BR:BPOST), which rose 6.57% or 0.88 points to trade at 14.27 at the close. KBC (BR:KBC) added 2.31% or 1.480 points to end at 65.440 and Sofina (BR:SOF) was up 1.35% or 2.20 points to 165.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Ontex Group (BR:ONTEX), which lost 1.56% or 0.40 points to trade at 25.30 in late trade. Proximus NV (BR:PROX) declined 0.90% or 0.19 points to end at 20.96 and Aperam SA (AS:APAM) shed 0.58% or 0.24 points to 40.99.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 71 to 43 and 15 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.02% or 0.30 to $1220.70 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 0.09% or 0.06 to hit $66.88 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 0.12% or 0.09 to trade at $72.19 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.42% to 1.1561, while EUR/GBP fell 0.22% to 0.8992.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.32% at 95.25.
