Investing.com – Belgium equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Healthcare and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 gained 0.57%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Anheuser Busch Inbev SA NV (BR:ABI), which rose 1.48% or 1.28 points to trade at 87.89 at the close. Solvay SA (BR:SOLB) added 1.35% or 1.55 points to end at 116.15 and KBC (BR:KBC) was up 1.29% or 0.960 points to 75.480 in late trade.
Biggest losers included NV Bekaert SA (BR:BEKB), which lost 0.90% or 0.34 points to trade at 37.44 in late trade. Etablissementen Fr Colruyt NV (BR:COLR) declined 0.87% or 0.39 points to end at 44.54 and Umicore SA (BR:UMI) shed 0.63% or 0.29 points to 45.89.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 80 to 37 and 13 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.16% or 2.10 to $1332.40 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 0.88% or 0.56 to hit $64.11 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract rose 0.72% or 0.48 to trade at $67.52 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.04% to 1.2299, while EUR/GBP rose 0.08% to 0.8812.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.07% at 89.87.
