Investing.com – Belgium equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Technology, Utilities and Financials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 rose 0.41% to hit a new 3-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Ackermans V.Haaren (BR:ACKB), which rose 1.54% or 2.25 points to trade at 148.35 at the close. Cofinimmo-Sicafi (BR:COFB) added 1.54% or 1.65 points to end at 108.65 and Ontex Group (BR:ONTEX) was up 1.39% or 0.40 points to 28.82 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Solvay SA (BR:SOLB), which lost 1.29% or 1.65 points to trade at 126.40 in late trade. Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) declined 1.02% or 0.890 points to end at 86.190 and Telenet Group (BR:TNET) shed 0.04% or 0.02 points to 55.98.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 80 to 34 and 14 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.10% or 1.25 to $1287.45 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 0.21% or 0.11 to hit $51.45 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 0.68% or 0.39 to trade at $56.77 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.17% to 1.1807, while EUR/GBP rose 0.54% to 0.8816.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.05% at 93.00.
