Investing.com – Belgium equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Consumer Services, Technology and Healthcare sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 rose 0.36%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Etablissementen Fr Colruyt NV (BR:COLR), which rose 2.96% or 1.26 points to trade at 43.97 at the close. UCB (BR:UCB) added 1.90% or 1.20 points to end at 64.44 and Ontex Group (BR:ONTEX) was up 0.99% or 0.28 points to 27.95 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Ackermans V.Haaren (BR:ACKB), which lost 0.51% or 0.75 points to trade at 145.30 in late trade. Solvay SA (BR:SOLB) declined 0.46% or 0.55 points to end at 117.80 and KBC (BR:KBC) shed 0.28% or 0.190 points to 68.560.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 66 to 48 and 10 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.14% or 1.80 to $1296.20 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 0.15% or 0.09 to hit $58.02 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 0.16% or 0.10 to trade at $63.28 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.16% to 1.1879, while EUR/GBP rose 0.49% to 0.8976.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.22% at 93.05.
