Investing.com – Belgium equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Technology, Healthcare and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 added 0.35% to hit a new 3-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Telenet Group (BR:TNET), which rose 1.57% or 0.88 points to trade at 56.86 at the close. Umicore NV (BR:UMI) added 1.50% or 1.05 points to end at 71.04 and Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) was up 1.46% or 1.260 points to 87.450 in late trade.
Biggest losers included NV Bekaert SA (BR:BEKB), which lost 1.20% or 0.48 points to trade at 40.10 in late trade. bpost NV (BR:BPOST) declined 0.70% or 0.17 points to end at 24.98 and Ontex Group (BR:ONTEX) shed 0.23% or 0.07 points to 28.75.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 77 to 41 and 9 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.49% or 6.30 to $1278.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 2.30% or 1.19 to hit $50.48 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 1.18% or 0.67 to trade at $56.12 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.64% to 1.1742, while EUR/GBP rose 0.37% to 0.8852.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.55% at 93.42.
