Investing.com – Belgium equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Utilities, Financials and Healthcare sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 gained 0.27% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Argen-X (BR:ARGX), which rose 3.23% or 2.60 points to trade at 83.10 at the close. bpost NV (BR:BPOST) added 2.32% or 0.30 points to end at 13.25 and Engie SA (PA:ENGIE) was up 1.31% or 0.17 points to 13.55 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Proximus NV (BR:PROX), which lost 1.74% or 0.36 points to trade at 20.31 in late trade. Telenet Group (BR:TNET) declined 1.35% or 0.54 points to end at 39.38 and Solvay SA (BR:SOLB) shed 0.82% or 0.90 points to 108.60.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 53 to 53 and 22 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.58% or 7.20 to $1223.90 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 0.62% or 0.42 to hit $67.84 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 0.22% or 0.16 to trade at $72.91 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.24% to 1.1693, while EUR/GBP rose 0.01% to 0.8927.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.18% at 94.42.
