Investing.com – Belgium equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Technology, Industrials and Healthcare sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 added 0.27%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were UCB (BR:UCB), which rose 2.37% or 1.58 points to trade at 68.20 at the close. KBC (BR:KBC) added 2.01% or 1.520 points to end at 77.000 and Ageas (BR:AGES) was up 1.47% or 0.620 points to 42.740 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Ontex Group (BR:ONTEX), which lost 2.68% or 0.66 points to trade at 23.94 in late trade. Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) declined 2.42% or 2.200 points to end at 88.880 and Proximus NV (BR:PROX) shed 1.46% or 0.39 points to 26.40.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 57 to 50 and 23 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was down 1.24% or 16.50 to $1316.30 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 1.52% or 0.97 to hit $62.94 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 1.17% or 0.79 to trade at $66.50 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.69% to 1.2232, while EUR/GBP fell 0.29% to 0.8794.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.60% at 90.31.
