Investing.com – Belgium equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Consumer Services, Utilities and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 added 0.24%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Ontex Group (BR:ONTEX), which rose 2.52% or 0.49 points to trade at 19.93 at the close. Ageas (BR:AGES) added 1.88% or 0.850 points to end at 46.110 and Engie SA (PA:ENGIE) was up 1.73% or 0.21 points to 12.62 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Argen-X (BR:ARGX), which lost 2.34% or 1.60 points to trade at 66.90 in late trade. Proximus NV (BR:PROX) declined 2.00% or 0.42 points to end at 20.60 and Cofinimmo-Sicafi (BR:COFB) shed 1.56% or 1.70 points to 107.50.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 57 to 50 and 22 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.76% or 9.20 to $1202.10 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.77% or 0.54 to hit $70.86 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 0.09% or 0.07 to trade at $78.77 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.29% to 1.1743, while EUR/GBP rose 1.23% to 0.8984.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.40% at 93.84.
