Investing.com – Belgium equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Consumer Services and Telecoms sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 rose 0.13%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Umicore NV (BR:UMI), which rose 1.14% or 0.78 points to trade at 68.91 at the close. bpost NV (BR:BPOST) added 0.75% or 0.18 points to end at 24.74 and Solvay SA (BR:SOLB) was up 0.68% or 0.85 points to 125.05 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Ackermans V.Haaren (BR:ACKB), which lost 0.58% or 0.85 points to trade at 145.45 in late trade. Engie SA (PA:ENGIE) declined 0.56% or 0.08 points to end at 14.32 and Ageas (BR:AGES) shed 0.52% or 0.205 points to 38.960.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 65 to 47 and 14 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.62% or 8.09 to $1303.41 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 0.59% or 0.31 to hit $51.91 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 1.13% or 0.66 to trade at $57.77 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.64% to 1.1772, while EUR/GBP fell 0.32% to 0.8770.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.58% at 92.98.
