Investing.com – Belgium equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Telecoms, Consumer Goods and Healthcare sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 rose 0.13%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were UCB (BR:UCB), which rose 1.72% or 1.02 points to trade at 60.45 at the close. Proximus NV (BR:PROX) added 1.36% or 0.39 points to end at 28.99 and Anheuser Busch Inbev SA NV (BR:ABI) was up 1.25% or 1.22 points to 98.73 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Aperam SA (AS:APAM), which lost 2.44% or 1.09 points to trade at 43.70 in late trade. NV Bekaert SA (BR:BEKB) declined 1.61% or 0.66 points to end at 40.06 and Solvay SA (BR:SOLB) shed 1.15% or 1.45 points to 124.20.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 59 to 53 and 8 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 1.13% or 14.70 to $1312.20 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 2.09% or 1.06 to hit $51.72 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 2.50% or 1.41 to trade at $57.83 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 1.02% to 1.1835, while EUR/GBP fell 0.43% to 0.8810.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.62% at 92.52.
