Investing.com – Belgium equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Consumer Goods and Technology sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 gained 0.09%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Ontex Group (BR:ONTEX), which rose 4.20% or 0.75 points to trade at 18.59 at the close. Argen-X (BR:ARGX) added 3.70% or 3.30 points to end at 92.50 and Anheuser Busch Inbev SA NV (BR:ABI) was up 2.18% or 1.42 points to 66.61 in late trade.
Biggest losers included ING Groep NV (AS:INGA), which lost 2.26% or 0.238 points to trade at 10.312 in late trade. Ageas (BR:AGES) declined 1.27% or 0.520 points to end at 40.580 and KBC (BR:KBC) shed 1.17% or 0.700 points to 59.280.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 63 to 54 and 18 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.72% or 9.45 to $1324.95 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 1.51% or 0.82 to hit $55.05 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract rose 0.70% or 0.43 to trade at $61.97 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.32% to 1.1440, while EUR/GBP fell 0.41% to 0.8714.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.31% at 95.322.
