Investing.com – Belgium equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Financials, Healthcare and Pharma & Bio-technology sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 gained 0.09%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Argen-X (BR:ARGX), which rose 2.90% or 1.90 points to trade at 67.50 at the close. Ageas (BR:AGES) added 1.65% or 0.760 points to end at 46.950 and Sofina (BR:SOF) was up 1.28% or 2.20 points to 173.60 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Ontex Group (BR:ONTEX), which lost 2.85% or 0.54 points to trade at 18.41 in late trade. Engie SA (PA:ENGIE) declined 1.69% or 0.21 points to end at 12.25 and Proximus NV (BR:PROX) shed 1.49% or 0.31 points to 20.54.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 64 to 50 and 19 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.14% or 1.70 to $1206.10 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to hit $72.08 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 0.82% or 0.66 to trade at $81.19 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.20% to 1.1772, while EUR/GBP fell 0.16% to 0.8941.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.16% at 93.70.
