Investing.com – Belgium equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Healthcare, Basic Materials and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 gained 0.06%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Argen-X (BR:ARGX), which rose 5.70% or 3.40 points to trade at 63.00 at the close. Telenet Group (BR:TNET) added 2.27% or 1.00 points to end at 45.00 and Ontex Group (BR:ONTEX) was up 2.14% or 0.36 points to 17.19 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Aperam SA (AS:APAM), which lost 1.54% or 0.57 points to trade at 36.40 in late trade. Engie SA (PA:ENGIE) declined 1.52% or 0.18 points to end at 11.68 and Proximus NV (BR:PROX) shed 0.87% or 0.19 points to 21.68.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 65 to 52 and 15 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.42% or 5.20 to $1222.40 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 0.04% or 0.03 to hit $70.94 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 0.71% or 0.57 to trade at $79.69 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.28% to 1.1561, while EUR/GBP rose 0.27% to 0.8786.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.23% at 94.91.
