Investing.com – Belgium equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Utilities, Healthcare and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 added 0.02%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Telenet Group (BR:TNET), which rose 1.93% or 0.92 points to trade at 48.56 at the close. UCB (BR:UCB) added 0.97% or 0.60 points to end at 62.76 and Umicore SA (BR:UMI) was up 0.92% or 0.42 points to 46.26 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Groupe Bruxelles Lambert SA (BR:GBLB), which lost 1.29% or 1.24 points to trade at 94.96 in late trade. Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) declined 1.03% or 0.780 points to end at 74.820 and Solvay SA (BR:SOLB) shed 1.03% or 1.20 points to 115.60.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 66 to 42 and 18 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.43% or 5.70 to $1317.70 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 0.35% or 0.24 to hit $68.34 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 1.02% or 0.75 to trade at $74.54 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.33% to 1.2091, while EUR/GBP fell 0.14% to 0.8789.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.25% at 91.54.
