July 16 (Reuters) - Australia's Whitehaven Coal Ltd WHC.AX on Monday reported flat output of saleable coal in the year-ended June 30, as record production at its Maules Creek mine was largely neutralised by lower coal availability at its Narrabri mine.
Australia's biggest independent coal miner said it produced 20.9 million tonnes of saleable coal, compared with a forecast of between 20.5 million and 21.0 million tonnes. firm, which produces both thermal and metallurgical coal, said it sold a total of 4.7 million tonnes of coal in the June quarter, down from 5.5 million tonnes in the same quarter last year.
