SYDNEY, April 29 (Reuters) - Australia on Thursday named Deutsche Bank (DE:DBKGn)'s former general counsel Joseph Longo as the head of the country's corporate regulator, replacing James Shipton who resigned in January.
Longo, who is currently a senior advisor at law firm Herbert Smith Freehills, will join the Australian Securities and Investments Commission on June 1 for a five-year term, Treasurer Josh Frydenberg said in a statement.
Shipton resigned in January, months after he was stood aside pending a review over his expense claims.
