SYDNEY, Aug 24 (Reuters) - Australian engineering and construction contractor UGL Ltd UGL.AX said it booked an annual net loss after it made writedowns on several business units due to project delays and exposure to the resources downturn.
The company posted a net loss of A$236.4 million for the year to June 30, compared with a $62.1 million net profit the previous year. Underlying net profit, which excludes on-off items, dived to A$30.3 million from A$111.7 million.
UGL said it did not plan to pay a dividend in 2015 and that the future reinstatement of dividends would depend on the normalisation of underlying earnings.
