Investing.com – Nigeria equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Food, Beverages & Tobacco, Banking and Oil & Gas sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lagos, the NSE 30 added 0.46%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the NSE 30 were Unilever Nig (LAGOS:UNILEVE), which rose 5.00% or 2.20 points to trade at 46.20 at the close. Uacn Prop (LAGOS:UACN) added 3.67% or 0.62 points to end at 17.73 and Dangote Flour Mills PLC (LAGOS:DANGFLOUR) was up 3.62% or 0.25 points to 7.20 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Total Nig (LAGOS:TOTAL), which lost 5.00% or 12.25 points to trade at 232.75 in late trade. Nestle Nig (LAGOS:NESTLE) declined 4.54% or 54.50 points to end at 1145.50 and Pz Cussons LG (LAGOS:PZ) shed 4.12% or 0.99 points to 23.01.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 40 to 35 and 20 ended unchanged on the Lagos.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for December delivery was up 0.98% or 0.51 to $52.41 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 1.38% or 0.79 to hit $58.16 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.26% or 3.34 to trade at $1277.56 a troy ounce.
EUR/NGN was up 0.13% to 423.340, while USD/NGN fell 0.28% to 359.000.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.13% at 93.84.
