Investing.com – Belgium stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Software & Computers, Technology and Telecoms sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 gained 2.83%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were bpost NV (BR:BPOST), which rose 5.05% or 1.03 points to trade at 21.55 at the close. Meanwhile, Proximus NV (BR:PROX) added 4.36% or 1.26 points to end at 30.28 and Cofinimmo-Sicafi (BR:COFB) was up 4.11% or 3.80 points to 96.29 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were DIeteren SA (BR:IETB), which rose 0.36% or 0.105 points to trade at 29.020 at the close. Delta Lloyd (AS:DLL) added 0.82% or 0.04 points to end at 5.05 and KBC (BR:KBC) was up 1.79% or 0.930 points to 53.030.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 134 to 17 and 4 ended unchanged.
Gold for February delivery was up 0.07% or 0.80 to $1099.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 7.31% or 2.16 to hit $31.69 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract rose 7.78% or 2.27 to trade at $31.52 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.61% to 1.0809, while EUR/GBP fell 1.09% to 0.7564.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.35% at 99.49.
