Artemis Resources Ltd (ASX:ARV, AIM:ARV, OTCQB:ARTTF) has completed a successful ground reconnaissance program testing gold targets on its West Pilbara Project tenements, confirming the presence of gold and copper mineralisation.
The Nickol River Hill South target was particularly promising, delivering a high-grade gold and copper assay of 6.93 g/t gold in rock chip sampling with a peak copper assay of 10.85% copper.
The company also found 21 gold nuggets in groundwork at the Sing-Six prospect in rock and sand cover near-surface, with physical characteristics suggesting that a hard rock source is close.
More exploration to follow
“We are very pleased with the results of this small program as we begin to delve into the prospectivity of the numerous gold targets contained within our tenements,” Artemis Resources executive director George Ventouras said.
“Numerous targets have been identified and we are planning to conduct further work around each of these as well as seeking to extend the known mineralised areas across the tenements.
“We believe further work will result in the delineation of additional prospects that will be developed into attractive drill targets.”
The company says it is particularly pleased to have encountered “multi-commodity results at the Nickol River Hill South prospect, strong gold and silver results at the Lulu Creek prospect and significant gold at the Sing-Six/Sing Well prospect.”
From here, ARV intends to conduct further field programs to evaluate newly identified broad structural zones and these emerging targets.
The first target to be drill tested will be the Lulu Creek prospect, for which ARV has already received government co-funding grant for drilling.
The company is also advancing plans to complete heritage surveys covering the Lulu Creek gold prospect and the Mt Marie lithium prospect.
