Artemis Resources Ltd (ASX:ARV, AIM:ARV, OTCQB:ARTTF) has made some big strides in its lithium exploration activities in the West Pilbara region.
Substantial lithium
Recent stratigraphic diamond drilling and rock chip sampling have unveiled the potential for substantial lithium mineralisation, particularly at the Kobe and Osborne sites.
Key findings from the exploration include the identification of a potential sub-vertical orientation of pegmatites at both locations, with initial drill hole results suggesting proximity to high-value targets.
Notably, drill hole #1 may have not fully reached the Osborne target, prompting plans for a maiden Reverse Circulation (RC) drilling program in March 2024.
The upcoming program aims to explore near-surface lithium-rich zones at Osborne, where access has recently been authorised.
Further bolstering the project's prospects, new outcrop sampling has confirmed significant lithium, tantalum and niobium mineralisation in the western extension of Osborne.
High-grade rock chip sampling assays have reported lithium oxide (Li2O) concentrations up to 2.36%, alongside notable quantities of tantalum oxide (Ta2O5) and niobium oxide (Nb2O5).
These results extend the known mineralisation at Osborne westward by 600 metres, bringing the total strike length to 700 metres, with the mineralisation remaining open for further exploration.
Thorough geological assessment
Artemis's exploration strategy is underpinned by thorough geological assessment and strategic drilling to better understand the underlying structures.
Initial stratigraphic holes, drilled from locations constrained by heritage clearances, have provided valuable insights into the pegmatite trends, guiding future exploration efforts.
The company's forward exploration program includes a comprehensive suite of activities such as mapping, soil sampling, and additional rock chip sampling, all leading up to the anticipated maiden RC drilling program.
Artemis and its joint venture partners have secured the necessary approvals and clearances to facilitate ongoing and future drill programs.
Adjacent to Azure Minerals' Andover Discovery, Artemis's lithium projects are strategically positioned, enhancing the exploration appeal of the region.
Executive director George Ventouras said: “The results from the stratigraphic holes drilled on the Osborne JV tenement have provided valuable information for the technical team to refine and develop further drill programs.
“The geology has provided clear evidence as to the subterrain and potential location of the pegmatites which will be followed up shortly.
“Additionally, we are encouraged by the extension to the Osborne trend and look forward to further ground reconnaissance in the same area. With the above and our results from the Mt Marie lithium prospect, we are very excited for the next few months of activity and news flow.”
