Australian software firm archTIS Ltd has joined the NetApp (NASDAQ:NTAP) Technology Alliance Program as a Preferred Partner, following the successful integration and field validation of its NC Protect product with NetApp ONTAP.
The NC Protect suite is a data security solution designed to facilitate collaboration using NetApp ONTAP Windows file shares with data-centric access and security controls.
AR9 says the product went through extensive field interoperability testing at NetApp and is now a field-validated third-party solution for data protection and security.
Data security and curation are becoming ever more relevant as AI-driven cybercrime spikes and governments struggle to enact effective regulations governing the handling of sensitive personal, government and defence data.
Filling technological gaps
“Security remains a top priority across defence and enterprises alike. Customers are looking for solutions that help fill gaps and enhance their existing technology investments and systems,” archTIS global chief operating officer and US president Kurt Mueffelmann said.
“NC Protect’s validated integration allows NetApp’s 10,000 customers to augment sensitive data discovery, labelling, access and protection capabilities with data-centric ABAC policies using a proven solution trusted by leading defence agencies and enterprises alike.”
AR9 believes that NC Protect paired with ONTAP addresses the protection of information, dynamically at the data layer at the time of access.
The company says the combination offers real-time protection by examining user context and file content, ensuring data is accessed and shared according to set policies.
This includes unique features like read-only access, dynamic security watermarks, visual marking of sensitive data and file obfuscation to prevent unauthorised access, mishandling and loss.
