Anson Resources Ltd (ASX:ASN, OTCQB:ANSNF) has identified extensive high-grade gallium and barium mineralisation in association with zinc, lead, copper and silver from historical drilling programs at its Ajana Project in the Mid-West region of Western Australia.
The assays correspond with the drilling results obtained to date and indicate the potential for numerous critical mineral deposits across the entire Ajana Project area.
Via a review of historical records of lead mining in the area, high-grade gallium and barium was discovered in numerous historic drill holes at two additional prospect areas, Mary Springs and Ethel Maude. The historical samples assayed up to 34.4 g/t gallium.
Continuous mineralised intersections were drilled from the surface to a depth of 170 metres.
Logs correlate with government-funded geochemical sampling records which indicated that gallium and barium assays had been recorded over the entire Ajana Project area.
The soil geochemical sampling results for gallium and barium also correlate with the two short drilling programs recently completed by Anson, which had returned high-grade zinc, lead and silver values and significant gallium, indium and germanium associated with the mineralisation zones.
Anson says that with the consistency of its grade and occurrence of gallium in all 26 holes drilled for 2,721 metres, up to 34.4 g/t gallium, and the mineralised zones through the entire downhole drill intervals and across the breadth of the prospect, it has the potential to represent a significant economic addition to all of Anson’s prospects in the Ajana area.
Plan showing the drill hole locations where critical minerals have been recorded and values for gallium in a geochemical survey at the Ajana Project.
