Anson Resources Ltd (ASX:ASN) has begun earthworks in preparation for its Western Strategy resource expansion drilling program at the Paradox Lithium Project in southeastern Utah, USA, after passing a federal and state government site visit with flying colours.
Officials from the US Department of the Interior, Bureau of Land Management (BLM) and the Utah State Division of Oil, Gas and Mining (UDOGM) visited both the Mineral Canyon and Sunburst drill sites at Western Strategy and found no issues for Anson to re-enter the two established wells.
The site inspection covered issues such as public safety, drainage protection, road maintenance, permits and bonds, among other things.
Drilling at Western Strategy will have minimal environmental, social and recreational impact as drill pads have already been established. They just need to be re-intstated.
Federal and state personnel inspecting re-instatement works on the Mineral Canyon pad.
Resource upgrade
The Western Strategy resource expansion program is designed to further increase Paradox’s existing mineral resource of 1.04 million tonnes of lithium carbonate equivalent (LCE) and 5.27 million tonnes of bromine.
This program forms part of Anson’s wider mineral resource expansion strategy in the Paradox Basin, where drilling is also planned to commence at the Green River Lithium Project, about 50 kilometres to the northwest.
The company will use assay results and flow testing of brines in the surrounding areas of the wells to increase the resource estimate, both vertically and horizontally.
Core asset
Anson is focused on developing the Paradox Project into a significant yet sustainable lithium-producing operation.
The company’s goal is to create long-term shareholder value through the discovery, acquisition and development of natural resources that meet the demands of future energy and technology markets.
