Anson Resources Ltd (ASX:ASN, OTCQB:ANSNF) has completed a mineral resources estimate (MRE) at the Surprise Deposit within the Ajana Project in the Mid West region of Western Australia, measuring 103,000 tonnes grading 2.7% lead, 0.45% zinc and 1.3g/t silver.

Anson notes that the MRE is restricted to its recently completed shallow drilling program at the deposit, where the mineralisation is open along strike, both north and south, and down dip.

Anson also highlights that the zinc estimate was restricted to within the lead wireframes for this interpretation, while high-grade zinc also occurred in the footwall.

Additionally, since the MRE interpretation commenced, the company has discovered the critical minerals gallium, indium and germanium, which appear to be associated with the zinc mineralisation. These have not been included in the MRE as additional sample intervals are being assayed and metallurgical testing is still to be completed.

As the interpreted mineral resource has only been estimated at shallow depths, below 60 to 70 metres remains open, there is scope for increased mineral resources with additional drilling.

The currently defined extents of the interpreted mineralisation are expected to be increased by further drilling along strike, which remains open both to the north and south, using both diamond core and reverse circulation, and carrying out some structural, mineralogical, metallurgical and petrological test-work.

More Ajana targets

Numerous targets have been identified at the Ajana Project area using historic geophysical and geochemical data.

Soil sampling programs have been completed over a large area of the tenements and was completed over an area covering around 60 square kilometres. The program identified additional zinc, lead and copper exploration targets which run parallel to the Surprise Deposit.
