Animoca Brands Corporation Ltd’s subsidiary Notre Game has partnered with ONE Championship to create One Fight Arena, an NFT-powered mobile game featuring ONE’s robust roster of world-class martial artists and vast IP library.
Unlike traditional fighting games, ONE Fight Arena will focus more on strategic gameplay than just the action inside the circle.
Moving forward, the game will start player testing in the December quarter, with a full global launch in the March quarter of 2024.
Digital ownership at the core.
Animoca co-founder Yat Siu said: “Our partnership with ONE to create ONE Fight Arena will enable the fans of the world’s largest martial arts organisation to access a novel gaming experience with true digital ownership at its core.
“We look forward to assisting ONE to more closely connect with its fans in deep and meaningful ways.”
Web3 integration
ONE Fight Arena will offer players optional Web3 integration that uses blockchain technology and NFTs to provide true digital ownership to players for certain game assets, including ONE athletes as they appear in the game.
Gamers will be able to select from a wide variety of ONE athletes, such as MMA legend and ONE Flyweight World Champion Demetrious 'Mighty Mouse' Johnson, ONE Flyweight Muay Thai World Champion Rodtang 'The Iron Man' Jitmuangnon, and many others.
Featuring an immersive first-person point of view, players will be able to experience the unique world of martial arts and develop their athlete from the beginning of his or her career.
One co-founder and president Hua Fung The said: “We’re thrilled to work with an industry leader in Animoca Brands to launch ONE Fight Arena, our first Web3-enhanced video game.
“This partnership will give us the opportunity to engage with our global fanbase at a deeper level through a unique gaming experience.”
Innovative Project
The game is being developed by Notre Game and will be available as a free-to-play mobile game on Google (NASDAQ:GOOGL) Play and App Store during its launch in early 2024.
Players who do not wish to engage in the Web3 layer will still be able to play ONE Fight Arena as a traditional free-to-play mobile game, without true ownership of their ONE digital assets.
Notre Game CEO Jiri Mikolas said: “We’re thrilled to be a part of this collaboration.
“The values of Notre Game, like bringing innovative and bold projects with a strong focus on quality, align perfectly with the vision of this partnership.
“We’re looking forward to working with ONE and Animoca Brands to bring this project to life, reach the hearts of players around the world, and push the boundaries of mobile gaming.”
