GAMEE, a gaming subsidiary of Animoca Brands Corporation Ltd, has rolled out Beasties, utility-providing in-game companions, on its Arc8 app. The launch aims to bridge traditional and decentralised gaming, offering players a chance to mint NFTs at no cost.
As part of the launch, each Arc8 player will receive an in-game egg that can hatch into a Beastie.
These Beasties can be nurtured and upgraded using food earned through game victories. As players level up, they are offered the opportunity to convert these in-game companions into NFTs, which come in varying rarities and offer tangible in-game advantages like increased energy.
Tapping into traditional gaming market
GAMEE CEO Bozena Rezab emphasised the broader vision, stating, “By welcoming more Web2 players into the Arc8 blockchain mobile gaming platform, we are tapping a vast reservoir of mobile gamers who will now have the opportunity to experience the benefits of blockchain gaming and digital ownership, and claim what might be their first-ever NFT at no cost.”
The company says Arc8 Beasties serve as a critical milestone in GAMEE’s commitment to merge Web2 and Web3 gaming experiences.
Launched in 2022, Arc8 also supports both traditional fiat and token-based payments, offering an interconnected gaming experience for players across the spectrum.
