Animoca Brands Corporation Ltd and its subsidiary Blowfish Studios have launched the first-ever Phantom Galaxies play-and-earn event dubbed ‘Astrafite Rush’, which will be dropping today in a public alpha release.
As one of the first blockchain-based game titles with AAA scope and quality, Phantom Galaxies is attracting both traditional gaming enthusiasts and Web3 natives.
In the game, players will race against time-mining precious Astrafite and defeating fanatical Fire Dancer pirates to earn Astrafer tokens, the official governance and utility token for Phantom Galaxies.
AAA game experience
Animoca co-founder and executive chairman Yat Siu said: “We are incredibly excited to launch the first play-and-earn event for Phantom Galaxies, introducing rewards for the time and effort that players invest in our game, even at the Alpha stage.
“We believe that the glossy and polished AAA game experience of Phantom Galaxies will be able to on-board traditional gamers to Web3 and the open metaverse, allowing them to enjoy the benefits of true digital property rights.”
Astrafite Rush
Astrafite Rush will take place across six ‘cycles’ over six weeks.
For each cycle, all players participating in the event are ranked on a leaderboard based on their progress on the objectives of mining Astrafite and defeating Fire Dancers.
All players who rank in the top 10,000 on the leaderboard will receive Astrafer tokens with the amount based on their final position.
Holders of Planet Genesis Mintpass NFTs, which represent planets and asteroids in the Phantom Galaxies universe, will benefit from a reward multiplier for the Astrafer tokens they receive.
