Animoca Brands Corporation Ltd is looking to expand into the Middle East and North Africa, having signed a partnership agreement with stc play, a gaming platform owned by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabi’s Saudi Telecom Company, to distribute games on the Arabic-language platform.

The partnership marks another milestone in Animoca Brand’s efforts to “support and develop gaming and Web3 industries in Saudi Arabia and, more broadly, the MENA (Middle East and North Africa) region”.

Access to several million new users

“Partnering with stc play is a significant advancement of our expansion strategy in the Middle East,” Animoca Brands Corporation co-founder and executive chair Yat Sui said.

“As one of the largest telecom companies in the region, stc provides access to several million business and retail users across its expansive service offerings.”

Recently, Animoca Brands made a strategic investment into Nuqtah, Saudi Arabia’s first NFT marketplace.

Shortly before that, Animoca Brands entered into a strategic partnership with Manga Productions, the leading animations, comics, and games production company in the Middle East.

"Following our strategy and as an extension of our venture into gaming industry, we are glad to announce our collaboration with Animoca Brands to expand the gaming sector in Saudi Arabia by publishing video games in the MENA region using different distribution channels,” stc play head Bader Almarshoud said.

“This collaboration bridges the gap between the global and local games developing studios and its audience.”
