Alto Metals Ltd (ASX:AME) has delivered high-grade gold of up to 151 g/t from surface sampling at the Bollinger and Lightning prospects at its Sandstone Gold Project in the East Murchison region of Western Australia.
The soil sampling results validate the new regional prospects, while preparations are underway to start the next phase of drilling.
Bollinger prospect
At the Bollinger prospect rock chip samples included 151 g/t, 130 g/t and 113 g/t gold where previous drilling returned results including 25 metres at 2.5 g/t from 6 metres, including 1 metre at 16.4 g/t from 10 metres and 28 metres at 2.4 g/t from 4 metres, including 12 metres at 4.7 g/t from 16 metres.
Lightning prospect
At the Lightning prospect, rock chip sampling returned 9.7 g/t, 4.6 g/t and 4.2 g/t gold.
There hasn’t been any RC drilling at Lightning, which remains untested at depth butt historical RAB drilling results include 12 metres at 13.5 g/t from 25 metres including 1 metre at 147 g/t from 25 metres and 1 metre at 7.9 g/t from 36 metres.
The prospect features a one-kilometre-long gold-in-soil anomaly (peak 242ppb) within a favourable structural setting and remains open and untested by drilling.
Exploration continues
Alto is continuing with exploration field programs, with soil sampling at Lightning and site preparation at Vanguard North.
It also has RC drilling programs planned for Bollinger, Lightning and Vanguard North, once the soils program is complete and assays received.
Alto managing director and CEO Matthew Bowles said: “We are pleased to provide an update on our ongoing exploration activities at the Sandstone Gold Project, including encouraging results from Lightning and Bollinger prospects.
“With a growing, open-pit gold resource of 832,000 ounces gold at 1.5 g/t, constrained within A$2,500 per ounce pit shells, at our Sandstone Gold Project, the company remains focused on adding further ounces with extensional drilling and plans to mobilise rigs to test a number of our priority regional targets.”
