Alto Metals Ltd (ASX:AME) has uncovered several shallowly dipping thrust faults in deep drilling at Indomitable, confirming the presence of primary gold as well as more shallow oxide gold nearer to surface.
The Sandstone Gold Project – home to the Indomitable prospect – is AME’s flagship project and core focus, having just last month raised $5.4 million in a share placement to continue exploration on the tenure.
This round of reverse circulation (RC) drilling results at indomitable have been promising, offering broad zones of oxide gold up to 15 metres at 3.1 g/t gold from 32 metres of depth with higher grade components of 8 metres at 5 g/t gold and 1-metre at 22.2 g/t gold, and deeper primary gold hits of 11 metres at 1.0 g/t gold from 159 metres of depth, including 2 metres at 2.7 g/t gold.
More results to come
“This second phase of drilling at Indomitable was, for the first time, targeting the interpreted high-grade structures at depth,” Alto Metals managing director Matthew Bowles said.
“The drilling has again intersected shallow high-grade gold in oxide including 15 metres at 3.1 g/t gold including 1 metres at 22.2 g/t gold, but more importantly has intersected gold mineralisation of up to 10 g/t gold in multiple shallowly dipping interpreted thrust faults in fresh rock at depth.
“Our drilling has shown that mineralisation remains open at depth with higher grades typically observed where these faults intersect the steeper plunging interpreted structures.
“We are awaiting assays for the final seven RC holes of this program. Following this we plan to commence diamond drilling for structural information, and continue further RC drilling.”
Assays are still pending for seven more RC holes at Indomitable, accounting for some 1,200 metres of samples.
