Alligator Energy Ltd (ASX:AGE, OTC:ALGEF) has launched a high-resolution airborne magnetic and radiometric survey over the Nabarlek North Project in the Alligator Rivers Uranium Province (ARUP) of the Northern Territory.

The company has commissioned 12,000 line-kilometres of high-resolution magnetic and radiometric data to be acquired over the entire project area. It will be flown by Thomson Airborne Pty Ltd with a fixed-wing aircraft covering

This survey will be a step up in terms of quality and resolution from previously obtained geophysical data, and will offer seamless coverage to continue uranium exploration, offering particular insights into the lesser-explored northern portion of the tenure.

Key to targeted exploration

“Through our recent drilling programs, we have discovered that the uranium-fertile Cahill Formation is widely present throughout our Nabarlek North project,” Alligator Energy acting CEO Andrea Marsland-Smith said.

“This contrasts from a few years ago when understanding of bedrock geology was camouflaged by a few metres of cover.

“Taking lessons learnt, this survey is now key for deployment of targeted uranium exploration particularly in the lesser explored northern area and will potentially uncover a new pipeline of targets to be incorporated into our 2024 drilling program.

“Alligator looks forward to advancing our exploration work in this prospective area.”

About the survey

The survey will focus on identifying radiometric anomalies, major structures and prospective geology, with the goal of informing the location of specific drilling targets for the approaching 2024 field season.

Alligator is confident it will be able to take advantage of simple and inexpensive exploration techniques to make a uranium discovery through thin cover on the project.

The survey is co-funded by the Northern Territory Department of Industry, Tourism and Trade, via AGE’s successful application through the Geophysics and Drilling Collaborations Program, which supports “innovative industry geoscience programs in greenfields areas”.
