Metallurgical testing of samples from Aldoro Resources Ltd (ASX:ARN)’s Kameelburg Rare Earths Project in Namibia will begin shortly after two sealed drums of fresh materials cleared customs at the Bureau Veritas (BV) laboratory in Perth.
Metallurgical test work will be conducted on the samples for rare earth elements (REE) and niobium recovery and will take seven weeks to be completed.
Samples from 23 Kameelburg drill cores were taken from nine targeted sites in September, where previously a 100-metre rock chip sampling was carried out.
Fresh material
A portable Hilti rock core saw was used to drill 100-millimetre diameter holes to obtain fresh material for the testing.
A selection of seven of the cores weighing about 90 kilograms were sealed in drums and were sent as airfreight to BV.

Experienced metallurgist appointed
Aldoro has engaged experienced metallurgist Rob Riggir to assist with the test work program.
Riggir has more than 20 years of experience in the multi-commodity metallurgy space, having previously worked as a principal metallurgist for companies such as Rio Tinto (ASX:RIO) and Ashton Mining as well as previous successful test work on this orebody.
Gold and nickel focus
ASX-listed Aldoro is a mineral exploration and development company with a portfolio of critical minerals, including rare earth, lithium, rubidium and base metal projects.
The company’s flagship project is the Narndee Igneous Complex in Western Australia, which is prospective for nickel-copper-PGE mineralisation.
Apart from the Kameelburg REE Project, where it intends to continue investigating the niobium potential, others include the Wyemandoo lithium-rubidium-tungsten project and the Niobe lithium-rubidium-tantalum project, both in Western Australia.
