Accelerate Resources Ltd (ASX:AX8) has moved to expand its wholly-owned East Pilbara Lithium Project with four new tenement applications, which will boost the lithium-prospective tenure now under application to about 800 square kilometres.
In total, AX8 has made seven exploration licence applications, with two subject to a ballot due to competing interest from other companies.
The East Pilbara Project is adjacent to Global Lithium Resources Ltd (ASX:GL1)’s Archer deposit, where a mineral resource of 18 million tonnes at 1.0% lithium has been defined, demonstrating the prospectivity of the region for lithium mineralisation.
Ground mapping and sampling results imminent
"Accelerate's East Pilbara Lithium project, strategically positioned just 30 kilometres southeast of Global Lithium Resources' Archer deposit, holds promise for delivering positive lithium exploration results,” Accelerate Resources managing director Yaxi Zhan said.
“Our recent application for four new tenement applications has expanded our exploration project area to over 800 square kilometres, unlocking geological potential akin to the large Archer Lithium Deposit.
“Utilising the same proven exploration model employed for the Archer Deposit, we have successfully identified potential lithium targets in these new areas which is an exciting development.
“Our initial ground-based mapping and sampling program targeting potential lithium, tin and tantalite mineralisation has been completed, and we eagerly await the imminent results in the coming weeks."

Once the applications are granted, AX8 intends to complete additional fieldwork and analysis of satellite imagery, geophysical data and historical exploration results with the goal of investigating lithium exploration targets as quickly as possible.
