(Bloomberg) -- Senate Democrats are abandoned efforts to pass President Joe Biden’s $2 trillion economic agenda this year, delivering a political blow to a White House that has failed to rally the fractious party around its signature legislation, according to a person familiar with the decision.
The delay risks slowing momentum and solidifying the intra-party divide on the legislation, which many Democrats consider key heading into the 2022 mid-term elections.
A spokesman for Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer didn’t immediately respond to requests for comment comment.
