Investing.com-- Luigi Mangione, a suspect in the killing of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson, was charged with murder by a New York court on Monday evening, multiple reports showed.
Prosecutors in New York brought a murder charge against Mangione, multiple media outlets reported, citing court records.
Mangione, 26, was apprehended at a McDonald’s (NYSE:MCD) in Altoona, Pennsylvania earlier on Monday, and was reportedly found with a firearm, several fake IDs, and a manifesto that was critical of the insurance industry.
His capture brought an end to a five-day manhunt after the shooting of Thompson last week.
Thompson- the CEO of the insurance arm of Unitedhealth Group (NYSE:UNH), was gunned down near a hotel in New York city while he was on his way to an investor meeting.
