Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Insurance, Banking and Financials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite added 0.31%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were National Bank of Greece (AT:NBGr), which rose 13.64% or 0.04 points to trade at 0.38 at the close. Meanwhile, Alpha Bank SA (AT:ACBr) added 9.84% or 0.194 points to end at 2.165 and Euro Reliance (AT:EREr) was up 6.06% or 0.08 points to 1.32 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were A.S. Company (AT:ASCr), which fell 9.19% or 0.034 points to trade at 0.336 at the close. Halcor (AT:XAKO) declined 8.11% or 0.021 points to end at 0.238 and Frigoglass (AT:FRIr) was down 7.34% or 0.13 points to 1.64.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 61 to 37 and 7 ended unchanged.
Shares in Halcor (AT:XAKO) fell to all time lows; falling 8.11% or 0.021 to 0.238.
Gold for February delivery was up 0.32% or 3.40 to $1075.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 2.45% or 0.90 to hit $35.86 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 3.46% or 1.38 to trade at $38.35 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.47% to 1.0992, while EUR/GBP rose 0.12% to 0.7224.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.34% at 97.58.
