Investing.com – Norway equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Energy, Insurance and Capital Goods sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Oslo, the Oslo OBX added 2.14% to hit a new 3-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Oslo OBX were Seadrill Limited (OL:SDRL), which rose 15.21% or 4.8 points to trade at 58.3 at the close. Fred. Olsen Energy ASA (OL:FOE) added 11.88% or 3.6 points to end at 33.9 and Storebrand ASA (OL:STB) was up 10.29% or 3.21 points to 34.40 in late trade.
Biggest losers included DnB ASA (OL:DNB), which lost 4.36% or 4.6 points to trade at 101.1 in late trade. Golden Ocean Group Ltd (OL:GOGLT) declined 2.63% or 0.19 points to end at 7.03 and Bw Lpg (OL:BWLPG) shed 1.36% or 0.70 points to 50.85.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 116 to 60 and 14 ended unchanged on the Oslo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for June delivery was up 0.68% or 0.30 to $44.34 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July rose 0.88% or 0.40 to hit $45.98 a barrel, while the June Gold contract rose 0.61% or 7.55 to trade at $1250.95 a troy ounce.
EUR/NOK was up 0.23% to 9.2402, while USD/NOK rose 0.05% to 8.1607.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.08% at 94.37.
