WELLINGTON, March 30 (Reuters) - The New Zealand dollar rose overnight to be quoted at $0.6856 on Wednesday morning, up from as low as $0.6720 in the wake of dovish comments from U.S. Federal Reserve Chair Janet Yellen.
"The USD gapped lower on the prepared speech by US Fed Chair Yellen, early this morning. The NZD has been the strongest performer over the past 24-hours by some margin," BNZ senior market strategist Kymberly Martin, said in a research note.
The Kiwi was up 1.99 percent on the day at 1905 GMT.
