SYDNEY, Dec 17 (Reuters) - The New Zealand dollar rose about a quarter of a U.S. cent on Thursday after economic growth data came in slightly ahead of forecast.
The kiwi came within a whisker of 68 U.S. cents NZD=D4 , from around $0.6772 after third-quarter gross domestic product rose 0.9 percent on the quarter, versus the market consensus for 0.8 percent.
