WELLINGTON, May 11 (Reuters) - Reserve Bank of New Zealand (RBNZ) Governor Graeme Wheeler said on Thursday the central bank would need to see evidence of a pick-up in inflation to consider raising rates.
Wheeler was speaking at a parliamentary finance and expenditure committee meeting.
Earlier, the RBNZ held its official cash rate steady at 1.75 percent and retained its neutral stance on monetary policy for the foreseeable future, defying expectations of a more hawkish message.
