LONDON, Oct 14 (Reuters) - The New Zealand dollar rose 1.6 percent on Wednesday to hit a three month high against its U.S. counterpart as markets digested comments from New Zealand's central bank chief, who made no effort to talk down the currency.
In a speech earlier in the Asian trading session, Graeme Wheeler highlighted concerns on China's economic outlook, but he flagged the potential risks of low interest rates.
The currency traded as high as $0.6747 NZD=D4 , its strongest since July 13.
