Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Healthcare, Information Technology and Manufacturing sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share added 0.40%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Tea Smallholder Factories PLC (CM:TSML), which rose 23.20% or 5.80 points to trade at 30.80 at the close. Paragon Ceylon PLC (CM:PARA) added 22.88% or 13.50 points to end at 72.50 and Lucky Lanka Milk Processing Company Ltd (CM:LLMP) was up 20.00% or 0.70 points to 4.20 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Kalamazoo Systems PLC (CM:KZOO), which lost 15.39% or 400.10 points to trade at 2200.00 in late trade. Colombo Fort Investments PLC (CM:CFI) declined 14.12% or 12.00 points to end at 73.00 and Lighthouse Hotel PLC (CM:LHL) shed 11.03% or 6.40 points to 51.60.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 116 to 65 and 45 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for June delivery was up 0.73% or 0.31 to $42.95 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July rose 0.86% or 0.38 to hit $44.70 a barrel, while the June Gold contract fell 0.42% or 5.15 to trade at $1235.05 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.04% to 211.735, while USD/LKR fell 0.07% to 146.115.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.18% at 94.57.
