Investing.com – Sweden equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Telecoms and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Stockholm, the OMX Stockholm 30 added 2.43%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Stockholm 30 were Swedish Match AB (ST:SWMA), which rose 5.10% or 14.2 points to trade at 292.5 at the close. Lundin Petroleum AB (ST:LUPE) added 4.77% or 6.80 points to end at 149.40 and Alfa Laval AB (ST:ALFA) was up 4.26% or 5.3 points to 129.6 in late trade.
Biggest losers included SKF, AB ser. B (ST:SKFb), which lost 0.22% or 0.3 points to trade at 135.3 in late trade. ABB Ltd (ST:ABB) added 0.30% or 0.5 points to end at 164.7 and Volvo, AB ser. B (ST:VOLVb) gained 0.80% or 0.65 points to 81.95.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 457 to 125 and 47 ended unchanged on the Stockholm Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was up 2.70% or 1.29 to $49.14 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 2.74% or 1.35 to hit $50.61 a barrel, while the August Gold contract rose 0.89% or 11.75 to trade at $1329.65 a troy ounce.
EUR/SEK was down 0.03% to 9.4075, while USD/SEK fell 0.45% to 8.4665.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.46% at 95.75.
