Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Stores & Supplies, Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals and Investment Trust sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share declined 0.34%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were PC House PLC (CM:PCHO), which rose 50.00% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.200 at the close. Meanwhile, Arpico Finance Company PLC (CM:ARPI) added 18.43% or 40.30 points to end at 259.00 and Central Investments and Finance PLC (CM:CIFL) was up 12.50% or 0.100 points to 0.800 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Huejay International Investments PLC (CM:HUEJ), which fell 17.65% or 12.00 points to trade at 56.00 at the close. Autodrome PLC (CM:AUTO) declined 11.92% or 129.30 points to end at 955.10 and Good Hope PLC (CM:GOOD) was down 10.87% or 174.40 points to 1430.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 132 to 93 and 20 ended unchanged.
Shares in Good Hope PLC (CM:GOOD) fell to 52-week lows; falling 10.87% or 174.40 to 1430.00.
Crude oil for December delivery was down 0.87% or 0.40 to $45.54 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 1.12% or 0.55 to hit $48.50 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 1.40% or 16.50 to trade at $1159.60 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 1.22% to 218.305, while USD/LKR rose 1.35% to 143.025.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.21% at 97.48.
