Investing.com – Netherlands equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Consumer Goods, Oil & Gas and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX fell 0.23%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG), which rose 4.73% or 2.880 points to trade at 63.780 at the close. ArcelorMittal SA (AS:ISPA) added 2.50% or 0.134 points to end at 5.498 and Aegon (AS:AEGN) was up 0.85% or 0.030 points to 3.552 in late trade.
Biggest losers included NN Group (AS:NN), which lost 0.95% or 0.27 points to trade at 27.60 in late trade. ING Groep NV (AS:INGA) declined 0.81% or 0.090 points to end at 11.060 and Gemalto (AS:GTO) shed 0.81% or 0.51 points to 62.59.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 98 to 71 and 12 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 1.29% to 14.51.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was down 3.43% or 1.59 to $44.73 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November fell 3.11% or 1.48 to hit $46.17 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.16% or 2.15 to trade at $1342.55 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.21% to 1.1231, while EUR/GBP rose 1.00% to 0.8660.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.06% at 95.37.
