Investing.com – Poland stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Telecoms, Oil & Gas and Construction sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 gained 1.98%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Eurocash SA (WA:EUR), which rose 7.14% or 3.50 points to trade at 52.50 at the close. Meanwhile, Bank Handlowy w Warszawie SA (WA:BHW) added 5.18% or 3.30 points to end at 67.00 and Enea SA (WA:ENAE) was up 4.98% or 0.53 points to 11.18 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were KGHM Polska Miedz SA (WA:KGHM), which fell 2.74% or 1.67 points to trade at 59.38 at the close. mBank SA (WA:MBK) declined 2.47% or 8.00 points to end at 316.00 and LPP SA (WA:LPPP) was down 1.62% or 89.40 points to 5423.05.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 300 to 258 and 115 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for January delivery was down 2.34% or 0.83 to $34.69 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in February fell 0.47% or 0.17 to hit $37.22 a barrel, while the February Gold contract fell 2.46% or 26.50 to trade at $1050.30 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.10% to 4.2973, while USD/PLN rose 0.90% to 3.9777.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.95% at 99.33.
