Investing.com – Netherlands equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Financials, Consumer Services and Oil & Gas sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX gained 0.19% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were ABN AMRO Group NV (AS:ABNd), which rose 2.42% or 0.44 points to trade at 18.60 at the close. NN Group (AS:NN) added 1.18% or 0.34 points to end at 29.50 and Aegon (AS:AEGN) was up 1.05% or 0.048 points to 4.622 in late trade.
Biggest losers included SBM Offshore (AS:SBMO), which lost 1.11% or 0.12 points to trade at 10.65 in late trade. KPN Kon (AS:KPN) declined 0.92% or 0.033 points to end at 3.569 and Gemalto (AS:GTO) shed 0.70% or 0.39 points to 55.51.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 83 to 81 and 9 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 3.11% to 18.79.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for July delivery was up 0.59% or 0.29 to $49.62 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August rose 0.72% or 0.36 to hit $50.31 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.76% or 9.20 to trade at $1207.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.21% to 1.1138, while EUR/GBP rose 0.09% to 0.7609.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.01% at 95.72.
