Investing.com – Netherlands equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Healthcare, Consumer Services and Technology sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX lost 0.15%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Unilever NV (AS:UNc), which rose 0.72% or 0.30 points to trade at 42.02 at the close. ABN AMRO Group NV (AS:ABNd) added 0.68% or 0.11 points to end at 16.18 and DSM Kon (AS:DSMN) was up 0.30% or 0.17 points to 56.57 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Ahold Kon (AS:AHLN), which lost 1.70% or 0.36 points to trade at 21.16 in late trade. SBM Offshore (AS:SBMO) declined 1.68% or 0.17 points to end at 10.21 and Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) shed 1.50% or 0.725 points to 47.525.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 113 to 46 and 14 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 3.49% to 18.16 a new 1-month low.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was up 0.31% or 0.14 to $45.82 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 0.34% or 0.16 to hit $47.53 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.09% or 1.15 to trade at $1331.05 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.55% to 1.1060, while EUR/GBP rose 1.06% to 0.8408.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.56% at 96.64.
